The Walking Dead Season 2 Finale + Reactions

So, aside from seeking shelter from humid weather, we were able to get in some playtime with the final episode of Season 2 in The Walking Dead, if you continue, please be aware that THERE WILL BE SPOILERS!!!!

Andrew

Spoiler for Episode 5 below

Episode 5 - Finale

After the firefight, which leaves Luke injured, we took Arvo and continued on after being promised shelter and food. The group, after fighting about how Kenny was treating Arvo and a night at a powerstation, the come to the house, only problem, it is on a small island and it would take too long to go around, so the group must cross.
After everyone is across, they notice that Luke is stuck, the ice beneath him cracking. Bonnie tries to get close and causes him to fall through, you are given a choice, cover Luke from the Walkers so he can get out, or try to rescue him. I choose to cover, as instructed by Luke, but Bonnie went after him, causing both to go down in to the cold water.
I heard a thumping on the ice, it was Luke. I tried to shoot an opening but this resulted in Clem falling in as well, while under, she sees a lifeless Luke, sinking to the bottom. Luke is dead.
After getting out, Kenny begins to beat Arvo savagely, like Carver did him, for causing Luke to die, and for leading them to a half built house, until he is stopped and leaves. Clem warms up and is later asked to help Kenny with a truck he found, after helping get it started, Kenny tells Clem they should just leave, with the baby, that the others don't want to care for him, can't care for him. That he would do anything to make sure the baby survived, at long last, the old Kenny we knew seems to be back. Kenny deicdes to sleep on it.
At night, Clem hears something and goes to investigate, Mike, Bonnie and Arvo are loading the remaining supplies in to the truck, at gunpoint, they say they are afraid of Kenny and want to leave. Mike tries to convince Clem to drop the gun, but when she does, Arvo shots her, causing Kenny to run out and begin shouting until Clem fades.
Clem wakes up in the camper, with her head on Lee's lap. She tells him about Duck being bite, and wondering if leaving Lilly (if you did) was right. To which Lee responds that growing up means doing whats best for them, even if it hurts someone else.
Shes wakes up again, which is good as I thought it was all a dream and I would have been angry. In the truck with Kenny, Jane, and the baby. Both relieved Clem is okay. Jane begins yelling at Kenny, about how everyone is afraid of him, including his family, Jane and Clem, which causes Kenny to threaten her life if she doesn't shut up.
The group comes to a bunch of vehicles stalled and Kenny goes out to look for fuel, telling Clem to go drive away if he doesn't come back. After a small discussion about how Kenny is dangerous with Jane, gunshots are heard and Walkers begin swarming the truck. Clem floors it until they crash, causing the duo to separate and flee.
Eventually, Clem finds a small shelter, where Kenny has made it. He frantically asks about the baby, and Clem says he is with Jane. Kenny runs out to look for Jane, who is seen in the distance approaching, out of Kenny's sight.
Jane tells Clem to just watch, and not intervene, that she is tired of Kenny and wants nothing more to do with him.
Kenny comes back, and, well, I'll include my poorly recorded video, may need to turn up the volume.

This was my second playthrough, the first had me agreeing to stay after Kenny begged and pleaded, saying this is the best chance they got to live a normal life. Kenny thanked Clem and gave her his hat, much like her father did before he left. As Clem entered Wellington, Kenny stopped for a brief second, trying to not look back, as Clem entered the gates, they slowly closed, showing Kenny walking off into the distance. Alone.

I was pretty damn sad when Luke died, he was a cool guy, I wish I could have saved him.

I already hated Arvo, so him shooting Clem made me want him dead, sadly, that is not the case, Mike, Bonnie and Arvo ran off, leaving Kenny, Jane, AJ and Clem with the truck.

The fight between Jane and Kenny, wow, I already had decided I was Team Kenny no matter what, it would have been hard if it was Kenny against Luke, like I thought, luckily that didn't happen. I didn't like or dislike Jane, so it made it easy for me to let her die. Jane said Kenny was becoming Carver, I can see how she thinks that, but I don't believe it. Carver cared only for survival, not anyone in particular, Kenny was different, he cared about Clem and AJ, going as far to kill Jane when he thought AJ was dead, begging, crying for Clem to stay at Wellington. Any concerns I had about Kenny were erased, he is a lone man, trying to protect those close to him, whether misguided or not, I couldn't help but think he was a good guy again.

How did you feel about the last episode? Let us know.

The Walking Dead, Season 2 Episode 3: In Harm's Way [Reactions]

Obviously, this will contain spoilers and gameplay may vary slightly depending on your choices throughout the chapter and previous chapters.

Feel free to include your reactions in the comments and we'll add them here!

When we began playing, i immediately disliked everything about Carver and his group, just his cronie slapping Clem in the intro made me want to choke them, Kenny too, as you could tell when he saw what they did. When they placed in the 'detention area', you already knew these guys were assholes, it was a prison cell, outside, in the cold.... Reggie, a guy who helped the the others escape before was also there for his betrayal, trying to make amends and get back in. He seemed like a nice guy, although creepy and a bit off. Carver showed his colors when he FORCED Carlos to slap Sarah for talking out of line, Carver is clearly insane.
Seemed like a standard affair, Kenny wanted out, everyone else wasn't sure. Of course, I sided with Ken, as he is awesome. Bonnie, don't know how to feel about her, she wanted to make amends for what she did, but how can you trust someone like that after they cause your groups capture?
When Clem and Sarah had to help Reggie pick berries, I didn't see what could go wrong. Little did I know by helping Sarah, the trouble I caused for Reggie, who was killed by Carver, another reason I hate this d-bag. I was glad to see Luke again and decided to help him and Kenny get us out of there, but Luke getting caught led to the main reason I wanted Carver dead. Not only did he beat the crap out of Luke, he puts Kenny on the brink of death, also causing him to lose sight in one eye.
The group decides to leave, thankfully, Kenny was "okay" enough to walk. Alvin, who was taken away earlier, was found beaten, presumably to death, but when Clem turns on the radios to draw the Walkers, he gets up and says he'll hold off Carver's men, to make time for them to escape, he is then, unsurprisingly, killed.
The last bit was amazing, Carver had the group at gun point, but Clem was able to jump on him from some supply boxes. Luke, who I've lost respect for at this point, doesn't want to shoot Carver. I tell him to, so Kenny does it instead. When Kenny grabbed that crowbar, I was giddy with excitement. The escape was too damn fast for me, so much happened that I didn't get to "digest" it well enough. Carlos was killed, Sarah ran off and Sarita was bitten (and had her arm promptly removed by Clem).

I enjoyed this episode a lot, I made it my job to make everyone at Carvers a living hell for what they did to my group. It wasn't heavy on the action initially, but it really made up for it in the end. When we played, I WANTED to trust Bonnie, as she really seemed to want forgiveness for causing the deaths at the lodge, but she defended Carver too much, until Reg was killed at least. After that, and when she helped me get the radio to Luke, I felt I could trust her again, and I'm really glad I did, she redeemed herself, in my eyes anyways.
I have no remorse for Carver, the crap he did was bogus, I'm glad he was killed. Clementine seemed to really change at that point, maybe for the worse, but I couldn't let him live for what he did to the group.
It was sad about Alvin, but I don't have a strong bond with him, so I didn't let it bug me much. When we got to Carver, I was glad Kenny killed him, Carver was almost excited about it, that he was right when he said Clementine was just like him. When Carlos got shot, I was already on edge, then Sarah freaked out and Sari was bitten, if Reg could survive, why not Sari? Off with the arm!

Saddest Moments in Gaming

IMPORTANT: The list contains spoilers for Half-Life 2 Episode 2, The Walking Dead series by TellTale, as well as potential spoilers for Mass Effect 3 and Heavy Rain (however, these last two are player determinate).

As many gamers can attest, games sometimes pull at our heartstrings, whether the emotions be extreme happiness or sadness. We all have our personal favorites, or whatever you'd like to call them, so here are a few of mine (please feel free to share yours as well).

Half-Life 2 Epi. 2, Eli Vance's Death - I started playing HL when 2 was released on the Xbox, I fell in love instantly and become a dedicated fan (not enough to play the first, but whatever). I played through all of Episode. 2 numerous times and when I heard it was being ported AND included Episode 2, I nearly lost it.

After hours upon hours of me being, literally, enthralled with the characters (namely Alyx and her father, Eli) and story, I was "treated" to a most heart-wrenching scene.

It was a GREAT way to end the Episode, a great cliff-hanger and I wish Valve would go to Kindergarten so we could FINALLY count to 3 and continue Gordon and Alyx's story as they hunt for this killer, and save the world and all that.

Mass Effect 3, Tali's Suicide - Tali was my 'love interest' for as long as I can remember, I don't know why, just something about her was quite attractive. I always had her on my squad and did everything I could to make her happy, always talked to her between missions and pretty much advanced the story JUST to talk to her about more crap.

When we retrieved 'Legion' (of 'We are NOT Legion' fame) and had to pick between the Geth and Quarian, I never knew the severity of my actions, as it resulted in Tali's breakdown, her refusal to go on with living after witnessing the (essential) extinction of her species. No matter how close a bond Shepard and her shared, it wasn't enough to give her a reason to keep on going.

The Walking Dead Season 2 Epi. 1, Omid's Death -  The Walking Dead is known for its sudden and somewhat explainable habit of killing off people right as the show starts, who would have thought the game would follow so closely to that rule. As the season kicks off, you see Clem has regrouped with Omid and Christa, who is also quite pregnant. Omid and Christa go to clean up in one restroom while Clem uses the other nearby restroom, and gets in to some trouble.

So how does Omid die, a Walker, a group or thugs? No, a careless Clem leaves her gun on the counter and has it picked up by a passing stranger who ends up accidentally shooting Omid in the chest, killing him in seconds which alerts Christa who sees this and immediately breaks down in tears, killing the person who shot Omid with no hesitation. The game advances several months later and we see Clem and Christa together in the woods, but Christa does not have the baby, leading one to speculate what happened. With so much death, one can only wonder how Christa has managed to keep on going.

The Walking Dead Season 1, Clementine - No she didn't die, but the whole damn game is kind of sad for her, the end only more so. She's lost her parents and the only person who she would consider a father figure is now dead (or zombifed if you're an evil jerk who left Lee to suffer) and Clem is left to wander alone (granted we know she EVENTUALLY finds Omid and Christa, assumedly shortly after the events with Lee, but we can only speculate that). The look on her face at the end makes me want to die, or jump in to the TV and hug her, either one.

Heavy Rain, Ethan's Death(s), All of them.... The whole game really - Heavy Rain is an amazing game, the first one I got and Plat'ed when I got my PS3, it was an amazing expierence that I wish existed more in the gaming world. Sure, it wasn't a heavily action oriented game like God of War, Halo or even The Walking Dead (yeah, I just said The Walking Dead is more actiony than this game), but that's not why we played it. It was STORY DRIVEN, something most games forgo for said action content. So what made this game so damn sad? Well, if you're not a parent, you will NEVER understand the pain that Ethan suffers, even if you are, you still will never have to (or hopefully never have to) suffer the pain of having your child taken from you, the lengths he goes to save his son....

- Drives into oncoming freeway traffic and go 5 miles in 3 minutes (you do the math, I don;t want to)
- Traverse electrified power lines after crawling through a tunnel of broken glass
- Cut off your finger
- Kill someone
- Drink a vial of poison that will kill you in an hour, the ultimate sacrifice

Even after all this, there is no guarantee you'll save your son.

I could TRY to explain the potential sadness that can unfold, but I'll just provide videos, this game has the potential to make you very depressed and just be done with everything.
